Spring 2020 Player Registration

Mav Family,

Registration for the 2020 Spring Lax season is now open.  Just click on the green “Register” button on the front end of our website or go directly to it via http://assn.la/Reg/?r=3:193492

We are able to maintain the same base cost of the past two years at $410 per player which can be paid for at once or split into 3 payments.  If split into payments, the schedule is as follows: $135 due by Dec. 1, 2019,  $135 due by Jan. 1, 2020, and remaining balance due by Feb. 1, 2020.  For those who partook in volunteer opportunities and with credit on your account please note that the screen before submitting payment will always show the base cost of $410.  Once you continue on to submit payment it will show and calculate your players credit.  Please let us know if you believe the amount is not correct.

For those who registered for Mtn. View Lacrosse last year, there are only a couple of changes to note.  The uniform deposit this year will be $150 instead of $125 which will be collected before jerseys are handed out.  For our “pre-season” travel this year we are planning on visiting the Tacoma/Puyallup, WA area for the weekend of March 20-22.  It is not set in stone but looks to be 4 games and will more than likely entail staying two nights, (Friday and Saturday), instead of our typical one.  Please be advised that if your player is assigned to either the Varsity or JV A team this is a mandatory trip that will entail extra expense on your part; estimated between $125 and $150 per player.  Please set aside those dates.

The MVHS Lacrosse Board is planning on shooting for 3 teams again this year, (1 Varsity and 2 JV), but as always have to play it by ear.  We do encourage all who want to play to register as soon as possible for it makes it quite a bit easier to have a successful season when we can plan for it.

Another date to set aside is Dec. 5th which will be our first team wide meeting.  The MVHS cafeteria is ours starting at 6pm and we’re going to go back to our traditional chili feed.  Look for signups soon on what you can bring.  We do ask that all players and at least one parent/guardian of that player attend as we cover important dates, introduce the coaches, and set expectations.

As a reminder, all players are required to submit into the club concussion acknowledgment and player agreement forms for the Spring season.  And, unless your player participated in Fall Ball, you will, depending on the school grade of your player, need to submit either a physical signed by a physician dated no earlier than May 1, 2019 or an interim physical questionnaire.  Fall Ball players and parents, your physicals or interim questionnaires do not need to be re-submitted.  Please visit https://mavslax.zenpig.net/ which has the forms ready for download if needed and to upload when ready.

Looking forward to meeting you all on Dec. 5th and to a great season ahead.

Go Mavs!!

Off Season Workouts with D1 Training

Mav Family,

We do want to invite all lacrosse players to take part in off-season workouts if available.  In the past, Mtn. View Lacrosse has partnered with Off The Field and Rock and Armor for player conditioning which of course helps come try-out and season time but is as well just a great alternative to video games as the days get shorter.  This year, coach Hollowell introduced the Fall Ball players to D1 Training, who came by a recent practice and offered their services.  D1 Training is a fairly new program to the Boise area but are already working with many of the local collegiate athletes and nationally have been around for 15+ yrs.  They are also a much more economical way to go than in years past.

D1 Training has their facilities at 3750 E. Pewter Falls Street, Suite 120 Meridian, ID 83642, which is very close to Mtn. View HS.  They are offering 5 hour long sessions for $25, ($5 per session), which are done as a group.  This is open to all MVHS Lacrosse players whether playing Fall Ball or not… if a player plans on hitting the field in Spring you are more than welcome to join.  Sessions are currently Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, starting at 3:30pm.  We have close to 20 kids who are currently participating, and word is from their first full session this past Wednesday it’s pretty intense.  If interested, just send down your player with $25 to one of the next sessions and get him in.

Thank you,
